At TAB Gıda, we consider food safety and quality as one of the most critical aspects of our company's sustainability. To ensure food safety and quality across all relevant stages of our supply chain, we carry out extensive control activities. During the selection and approval processes of our food and food-contact material suppliers, we evaluate their performance in terms of food safety and quality. We monitor the products offered for sale in our restaurants with the support of our quality and operations teams, and we actively use feedback mechanisms to continuously improve our suppliers and product quality. As of the end of 2023, 91% of our suppliers for food and food-contact packaging materials hold a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-approved quality and food safety certification. These suppliers are audited annually by independent organizations in accordance with relevant standard requirements. For more information about the ingredients and producer details of products such as red and white meat, bakery items, and fries offered in our restaurants, you can visit our Ne Yediğini Bil platform.
To maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality and provide our consumers with superior service, we regularly inspect our restaurants. Both external audits and inspections conducted by relevant units of TAB Gıda help us comply with legal regulations, our corporate quality and food safety policies, and the requirements of the international fast-food brands we represent. In 2023, we conducted 2,641 independent audits and 352 internal audits to enhance food safety and quality in our restaurants.
We are facing challenges such as environmental pollution, food scarcity, and the depletion of natural resources due to the rapidly growing global population. These issues place significant responsibilities on our industry, particularly regarding access to clean and safe food, environmental sustainability, and human health. At TAB Gıda, we are fully aware of our environmental and social responsibilities within the quick-service restaurant sector. We believe that producing innovative solutions is a critical factor in achieving sustainable success in our industry. As one of Türkiye’s leading companies with an innovative outlook, evolving consumer demands, environmental sustainability, food safety, and quality have driven and accelerated our focus on innovation. In this context, we introduced the Plant-Based Whopper® to the market in 2021, offering the sector a groundbreaking product.
